Welcome Back!

The summer has come to an end. Back to school shopping is complete. Photos have been taken. Tears have been shed. Now… it’s time to really dig in and get the best of the best in professional learning for your  year ahead. We have a very exciting year ahead of us and we’re ready to roll out our list of opportunities – there really is something for EVERYONE!

Summer Recaps

The summer flew by, as we were busy with a variety of conferences, trainings, and SEEC staff community involvement:

  1. RTI/MTSS Conference – June 6-8 – 420+ attendees
  2. Math Science Project: Community of Practice/STEM 3-day Institute – 42 attendees
    • The Math & Science Partnership Community of Practice explored 21st Century Skills with middle school level participants in and out of their classrooms. Schools involved included Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, Fargo; Cheney Middle School, West Fargo and Montpelier Middle School. Sessions were part of the Math Science Partnership Grant provided by NDDPI and in collaboration with NDSCS, SEEC, VCSU, UND, NDSU, ND-CTE.
    • June 8-10
    • August 1-3
  3. 21st Century Community Learning Center Summer Conference – August 2-3- 150 attendees
  4. Direct Instruction Training – 54 total attendees
    • Participants were trained in implementing the direct instruction programs, Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading and Connecting Math Concepts. Districts involved included Lidgerwood, Northern Cass, Oakes, Richland, Sheyenne Valley Special Education Unit, TGU Towner and Wahpeton.
  5. ND Reading Corps Institute – August 9-11 – 50 tutors + 39 internal and master coaches
  6. SEEC Staff Volunteer at United Way School Supply Drive
